Overview

HCI Systems, a fast-growing leader in electrical, fire life safety, and low-voltage solutions across the U.S., is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee IT operations and strategy for our three business entities: HCI Systems, Control Systems Inc., and CMD Electric. This position requires a strategic IT professional with the ability to lead and support a team of technicians, providing support to over 1,000 users across remote offices nationwide. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex IT environments in a fast-paced setting. This person will report to our IT Director.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee IT operations for three companies, supporting 1,000+ users across California and throughout the U.S.
  • Lead and supervise a team of four support technicians, offering guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures that align with the company’s and IT departments’ goals and objectives.
  • Research and evaluate technologies, recommending tools and systems to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Utilize tools like N-able SolarWinds to monitor, secure, and manage IT networks.
  • Manage and maintain switches, routers, and servers (Windows Server 2012/2019/2022/2025).
  • Support and maintain end-user systems Windows 8/10/11
  • Administer Office 365 and SharePoint environments ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Manage remote access tools such as RDP, Citrix, and RemoteApp.
  • Administer Power BI, SSRS, and SQL databases to support organizational data needs.
  • Oversee and maintain ERP software administration, including IFS Cloud.
  • Create forms and workflows in Office 365 for departmental needs.
  • Oversee our access control, camera systems and security systems of all office locations.
  • Manage software licensing and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Standardize IT equipment and processes across the organization for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with vendors to align IT purchases and contracts with organizational needs.
  • Manage and optimize phone systems and related technologies.
  • Partner with senior management to meet IT project tasks and deadlines.
  • Rare, occasional travel to offices within California or out of state as needed for emergency operations and support.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, while providing professional development opportunities to build a skilled and efficient team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of IT management experience in multi-site environments.
  • Certifications in Cisco, CompTIA, AWS, Microsoft 365/Windows Server/Azure preferred.
  • Proficient with network management tools such as N-able SolarWinds.
  • Experience with remote access tools such as RDP, Citrix, and RemoteApp.
  • Expertise in managing network hardware, servers, and end-user systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Office 365 administration, ERP systems, and IT standardization practices.
  • Experience with administering Power BI, SSRS, and SQL databases to support organizational data needs.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align IT initiatives with business goals.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing IT teams.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Excellent vendor management skills, including negotiation and contract oversight.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of security systems and CCTV systems is a plus.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
