Overview

We are seeking a qualified Regulation 4 (REG4) Certified Fire Alarm Tester to join our growing Life Safety team. This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and servicing complex fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, Title 19, and local AHJ regulations, including REG4 testing for the City of Los Angeles. Candidates must have hands-on experience with fire alarm systems in high-rise and other complex commercial facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform REG4 Fire Alarm Testing as required by the City of Los Angeles Fire Department.
    • Inspect and test complex fire alarm systems, including those in high-rises, large commercial buildings, and mixed-use properties.
  • Testing of Fire Protection Equipment in accordance with Chief’s Regulation Number 4.
    • Support and train junior inspectors and helpers in the field.
    • Conduct inspections and testing of both fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems in accordance with state and local regulations.
    • Accurately document all inspections, deficiencies, and repairs.
    • Communicate with customers and AHJs in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, schematics, and system documentation.

Qualifications

  • Regulation-4 (REG4) Certification required.
    • Experience with fire alarm manufacturers including Edwards/EST, Kidde, Notifier, FireLite, Bosch, Silent Knight, DSC, Telguard, and Gamewell/FCI.
    • NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems and/or CA State Fire/Life Safety Certification preferred or willingness to obtain within one year.
    • Programming knowledge of fire alarm systems or low voltage systems such as access control, intrusion, and CCTV is a plus.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Proficient with basic computer applications including Microsoft Office.
    • Must pass background and driving record checks.
    • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or on a team.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders or lifts (up to 60 feet), and in confined spaces.
    • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed in the field.

Pay Range

USD $38.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr.
