Overview

HCI Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Service Technician / Programmer with advanced expertise in both servicing and programming fire alarm systems. This senior-level role demands strong troubleshooting skills, in-depth product knowledge, and hands-on experience with complex systems, especially Edwards EST3 and EST4. You will be responsible for resolving field issues and leading the configuration, programming, and commissioning of new or existing systems across various life safety platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to scheduled and emergency service requests; perform comprehensive diagnostics, repairs, programming, and system verifications.
  • Program, configure, and commission fire alarm systems with a focus on Edwards EST3 and EST4 platforms.
  • Service and support additional low voltage systems such as access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV.
  • Use system documentation and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, submittals, and software programs.
  • Interface professionally with building owners, contractors, AHJs, and internal teams to deliver technical resolutions and updates.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and support project teams during deployments.
  • Participate in weekly on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.
  • Complete all required paperwork, service logs, programming reports, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate proactively with service management regarding project status, delays, and recommendations.

Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in fire alarm/life safety systems, with demonstrated proficiency in field service and system programming.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Ability to meet background screening and safety standards.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and diagnostic/programming tools used in the industry.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC (NFPA 70), and relevant local code compliance.
    • Physically able to work on ladders, lifts (up to 60 feet), and in confined or elevated spaces.
    • Able to lift and transport up to 75 lbs as needed on job sites.

    Preferred Certifications & System Experience

    • EST3 / EST4 programming experience or factory certification highly preferred

Pay Range

USD $30.00 - USD $40.00 /Hr.
